The mono mix included on the old PAL DVD sounds significantly less dull than the restored mono mix, but it has a strong noise gate. Since the noise gate can be distracting, and since some may prefer the more dull EQ of the restored mix, both mixes were included. The NTSC DVD is a PAL->NTSC conversion so the PAL was used for the mono track. The 5.1 surround remix isn't great but was included regardless. The old mono mix from the DVD and the JPN BD were losslessly edited with silent gaps patched as necessary.
