Synopsis:
When former rock star Johnny Boz is found brutally murdered with an ice pick in his San Francisco bed, troubled homicide detective Nick Curran (Michael Douglas) is assigned to the case. The prime suspect is Catherine Tramell (Sharon Stone), a seductive and fiercely intelligent crime novelist whose latest book depicts an identical murder down to the smallest detail. As Nick investigates Catherine's past and becomes ensnared in her psychological games, he enters a lethal, obsessive affair with her. Blurring the boundaries between duty and desire, Nick finds himself spiraling into a high-stakes web of manipulation, suspicion, and mortal danger.
