Description:
RadiAnt DICOM Viewer is a powerful software that opens images from the disk provided by the hospital. It can automatically find the study folder, and DICOMDIR handles it without any issues. I tested it myself a couple of times, having to dig through the images without any issues.
The license is stored in a separate file in a separate folder. Activation is included and free for you to use.
The scroll wheel scrolls through the slices, and the right button adjusts brightness and contrast. Visualization windows for CT scans are pre-configured, allowing you to immediately see lungs, bone, brain, and soft tissue. Switching between them is as simple as pressing a single key, eliminating the need for manual selection. Overall, navigation is really user-friendly.
Measurements are readily available, allowing you to select a ruler, angle, area, and density in Hounsfield units with a histogram for the selected area. Arrows appear at the top, and the database includes captions and a pen for freehand drawing.
Another feature is that series can be opened in multiple panels at once, allowing for scrolling, meaning you can see an older study next to a new one, and the difference is immediately visible. It features multiplanar reconstruction and volume rendering.
The program supports a wide range of formats, including standard X-rays, CT scans, MRI, PET-CT, ultrasound, mammography, and more. Overall, I liked it; it's a great tool. Images are saved as JPEG or BMP, and printing is supported.
It can retrieve studies directly from the PACS server upon request, if the hospital network is configured for this.
Keep in mind that reconstruction and 3D are only available in the paid edition; otherwise, it's just a regular viewer. Russian language support was available in previous versions, but I can't tell you if it's up-to-date.

Pros:
reading disks and folders with DICOMDIR
ready-made visualization windows for CT
Hounsfield units and measurements
Comparison of series with linked scrolling
multiplanar reconstruction and volumetric view
Export to JPEG, BMP, and video
downloading studies from PACS

Analogs:
MicroDicom - completely free, but it slows down a lot on large images.

Answers to questions:
Will it open a disk from a hospital?
Of course, and a flash drive too; the study finds it itself
How does it handle large series?
It scrolls through a thousand CT slices smoothly.

Language : Multi + Russian.
Size : 10 MB.
