Clive Peacock is the sort of little man that no-one bothers much about. True, someone bothered enough to make him Postman of the Year for two years running, but apart from that he is not considered especially exciting. So when early retirement is thrust upon him at the age of 52, it looks like Clive will disappear into total obscurity.
Disappear he does - only to emerge as a celebrity. For while the Post Office may think Clive's delivery days are over, Clive has other ideas. He is going to bypass the sorting office and deliver his last collection in person. In his first and last grand gesture of defiance he bags the letters (there is even one to Italy ...) and disappears on his bicycle. The media love it.
