Recognition is based on Whisper models from OpenAI; they are stored directly on the disk after installation, so the internet is completely unnecessary. The basic model is sufficient for clean recording, but a noisy live rig should be upgraded to a larger model.

The program doesn't support video, which is a major pitfall, so if you want subtitles for a clip, first extract the audio track using ffmpeg or any converter.
