Plot Summary
Abandoned by his American lover, a handsome teenager from the mountains journeys to Manila in an effort to support his family. With a popular call boy as his mentor, Paul enters the glittering world of male strippers, prostitution, drugs, sexual slavery, police corruption and murder. Macho Dancer is a searing indictment of the hypocrisy and police corruption rampant under both the Marcos and Aquino regimes.

Encoded with a modified slow 2-Pass @ 8,250 kb/s, includes subtitles in English and French. All extras from both the NTSC DVD release and the recent Carlotta 4K remaster bluray are included. While most of the extras have an English friendly track the "Oliver" short film and French TV spot only have French subtitles. There are no official English subtitles for the 4K remaster of the film on home video as of now so I have synced the subs from the NTSC DVD release. Unfortunately there is some mismatch between the videos for these releases which means normal linear or drift adjustments to the subs do not work. Instead, I OCR'd the French subs from the Carlotta disc and used them as the matching track for sub sync. The results are pretty good but not perfect and you will notice some subs towards the end of the movie being off by fractions of a second. They still match when dialogue is being spoken but don't always start and end exactly when actors start or stop talking.
