As the title suggests, the narrative unfolds over several months through five specific social events: four weddings and one sudden, tragic funeral. Through a series of missed connections, altar-side plot twists, and hilarious misunderstandings, Charles and Carrie's paths keep crossing, forcing him to finally confront his true feelings and his fear of settling down.
