This is an interesting documentary about Stalin, his rise to power, and the invasion of the USSR by Germany in WWII. It's split into two parts, the first a general overview of the early history. The second part is the details of WWII and after. David Reynolds does an excellent job of explaining what happened with snippets from diaries, letters and other contemporaneous accounts. Well-assembled historical work.

Plot
When once distant UFOs become a terrifying threat and an alien invasion force begins attacking Earths major costal
and riverside cities, a U.S Marine staff sergeant and his team are sent into battle only to find they must take it
upon themselves to defeat an unknown enemy and protect what remains of Los Angeles.
Trama
Il sergente Michael Nantz ha alle sue spalle una lunga carriera nei Marines macchiata dalla perdita di alcuni
uomini nel corso di un'azione sotto il suo comando. Il suo ritorno allo stato civile è già stato decretato quando
una pioggia di meteoriti, che si rivelano essere ordigni lanciati sulla Terra da alieni che la vogliono invadere,
lo costringe a rimanere in servizio agli ordini del giovane tenente Martinez. La missione consiste nell'evacuare un
gruppo di civili rimasti intrappolati dagli invasori e portarli in salvo.
