Synopsis:
On December 12, 1979, in the chaotic political vacuum following the assassination of President Park Chung-hee, the fate of South Korea hangs by a single thread. Major General Chun Doo-gwang (Hwang Jung-min), the commander of the Defense Security Command and head of the joint investigation team, orchestrates a calculated, illegal military coup d'état by mobilizing a secret faction of officers known as the "Hanahoe." Standing directly in his path is Commander Lee Tae-shin (Jung Woo-sung), a fiercely principled, incorruptible general tasked with defending the Capital Defense Command. Over the course of nine excruciatingly tense, chaotic, and blood-soaked hours, the streets of Seoul become a battlefield as two powerful factions collapse into mutual betrayal, military standoff, and a desperate struggle that would alter the nation's history forever.
