Synopsis:
Paloma Josse (Garance Le Guillermic) is an extraordinarily brilliant, deeply cynical 11-year-old girl living in a luxurious Parisian apartment building. Disgusted by the vacuous, pretentious lives of her wealthy family and upper-class neighbors, she secretly resolves to end her life on her upcoming 12th birthday, documenting her remaining days with an old camcorder. However, her bleak worldview begins to shift when she encounters two kindred spirits inside the building: Madame Renée Michel (Josiane Balasko), the grumpy, deeply reclusive concierge who secretly harbors a massive library and a profound love for Tolstoy; and Monsieur Kakuro Ozu (Togo Igawa), an elegant, perceptive enigmatic retired Japanese businessman.
