When Strangways, the British SIS Station Chief in Jamaica goes missing, MI6 send James Bond - Agent 007 to investigate. His investigation leads him to the mysterious Crab Key; the secret base of Dr No who he suspects is trying to sabotage the American space program using a radio beam. With the assistance of local fisherman Quarrel, who had been helping Strangways, Bond sneaks onto Crab Key where he meets the beautiful Honey Ryder. Can the three of them defeat an army of henchmen and a "fire breathing dragon" in order to stop Dr No, save the space program and get revenge for Strangways? Dr. No is the first film of legendary James Bond series starring Sean Connery in the role of Fleming's British super agent.

This release is based on the 2022 60th Anniversary Blu-ray, using its remastered video presentation as the source. I tried to vary the audio options here. My headline track is the English Dolby Digital Plus 7.1 mix with Dolby Atmos from the 4K UHD disc. For purists, the original English mono track is included, alongside an isolated score and effects track, which offers a fascinating way to experience the film’s musical and sound design elements on their own.
Two commentary tracks round out the audio selection. One brings together moderator Bruce Eder with director Terence Young, editor Peter Hunt, production designer Ken Adam, and screenwriter Richard Maibaum, offering deep production and historical insight. The second features Terence Young with members of the cast and crew, providing a more conversational, anecdotal perspective on the film’s making.
Plenty of subtitle options covering most major languages (I hope!). Overall, this is a carefully assembled hybrid that should catering to most folks! Enjoy!
