Trama
Durante la dinastia Ching, due fratelli senza fissa dimora, Chang Wen e Huang Chung, si
guadagnano da vivere aiutati da Mi Lan, la compagna di Huang, assaltando e derubando i
viaggiatori che incontrano sul loro percorso. Un giorno, i tre si imbattono nel soldato Ma
Hsin con il quale, dopo il tentativo di rapina, stringono amicizia per stanare un covo di
banditi, nascosti nelle montagne. Presto, però, diventa chiaro a tutti che le intenzioni
del soldato son ben altre e, per evitare di finire tra le braccia di Mi Lan, Ma Hsin
ritorna nell'esercito per dedicarsi alla carriera. Anni dopo, i quattro si incontrano
nuovamente ma della vecchia amicizia non sembra essere rimasto nulla.
